1969
The origins of the family-owned company Industria Gabar, S.L., founded in 1969, lie in the manufacture of all kinds of wickerwork items, simple furniture, and wicker armchairs. Most of the production was destined for export, with countries such as Germany, France, Switzerland, Italy, and the USA being the main recipients of our products.
Consolidation
1980 / 2000
The manufacturing of wicker furniture and armchairs declined in the early 1980s with the emergence of rattan as a raw material. Due to its versatility, strength, and elegance, rattan became ideal for the production of all types of furniture, relegating wicker to basketry items only.
The 1980s and 1990s were years of consolidation for Industria Gabar, S.L. as a manufacturer of rattan furniture and basketry, both for the domestic market and across Europe—earning the company a recognized reputation in the sector.
In the late 1990s, synthetic rattan-like fibers appeared, revolutionizing outdoor furniture (for gardens and terraces). Always attentive to market trends, Industria Gabar, S.L. fully embraced the commercialization of outdoor furniture.
IN, OUT & DECO
The new catalogs are presented
2000 / 2010
In the 2000s, Gabar entered the furniture and decoration market through three catalogs:
Gabar IN, featuring exclusively rattan furniture;
Gabar OUT, with furniture made from synthetic fibers, aluminum, and teak; and
Gabar DECO, offering decorative items and basketry.
With this comprehensive offering, our goal is to provide customers with a wide range of furniture and accessories with a distinctly Mediterranean style, making it easy to furnish every space in the home.
50th Anniversary
2010 / 2019
The early years of the 2010–2020 decade marked a significant decline in demand for rattan furniture, which led us to consolidate our product offerings into two catalogs:
One called DECO, which includes a wide range of auxiliary furniture and decorative items in various styles, and a second catalog called OUT, featuring contemporary-style furniture designed to furnish both outdoor and indoor spaces.
In 2018, we launched our first VIVE catalog, aiming to offer our customers contemporary furniture for the home, aligned with the lifestyle of today’s society.
In 2019, we celebrated our 50th Anniversary.
